These simple yet effective road features are designed to alert drivers and reduce accidents, particularly in areas with high foot traffic.


What Are Rumble Strips?

Rumble strips are textured or grooved patterns embedded into the road surface. When a vehicle drives over them, they create a noticeable vibration and audible rumbling noise. Traditionally, they have been used on highways to prevent drivers from veering off the road or falling asleep at the wheel. In Cebu, however, the application has been adapted to protect pedestrians.


How They Work
