BMW Wants to Delete the Instrument Cluster And It Might Change Cars Forever

Image
For more than a century, every car has followed the same basic idea: You sit behind a steering wheel. You look through it. And directly behind it lives a cluster of gauges. Speed. Range. RPM. Warnings. Information. That rectangle whether mechanical needles or digital screens became one of the most recognizable objects in automotive design. Subscribe Enjoying my DIY car content? BMW is now asking a radical question: What if the instrument cluster simply disappeared? About Car Guru DIY

Car Guru DIY is an automotive platform focused on car news, technical knowledge, DIY maintenance, and repair insights.

The goal is simple: to make automotive information easier to understand and more accessible for everyday drivers and enthusiasts. From industry updates to practical repair guidance, Car Guru DIY brings together the knowledge you need to better understand your vehicle and the automotive world around it.

What We Do

Car Guru DIY covers a mix of automotive content designed to be both informative and practical:

We follow automotive news and industry developments, breaking down what’s happening in the car world in a clear and straightforward way. Alongside this, we publish technical explanations and guides that help you understand how vehicle systems actually work.

We also focus on DIY maintenance and repair topics, helping drivers become more confident with basic servicing, fault finding, and general vehicle upkeep.

The aim is not just to inform, but to help you actually understand what’s going on under the bonnet.

About the Founder

Hi, I’m Peter Mytko, the founder of Car Guru DIY.

For me, cars aren't just transportation they're a lifelong obsession. I'm a self-taught mechanic and lifelong enthusiast who firmly believes that everyone should feel confident opening their own hood.

My journey started not in a fancy school, but underneath my own vehicles. I’m a passionate, self-taught DIY mechanic who has spent years earning my knowledge through grease and effort.

Car Guru DIY was created to make automotive knowledge more accessible. A lot of useful information in the car world is either scattered, overly complex, or locked behind technical language. This platform is my way of bringing it together in a clearer, more practical format. When I'm not in the garage, I'm often driving around the UK, hunting down the most interesting car-connected stories and spots which often end up right here on the blog!
