If you’re an owner of a Kia Picanto, you may be wondering how to change the cabin air filter, also known as the pollen filter. The cabin air filter is an important component of your car’s ventilation system, as it helps to remove pollutants and allergens from the air that enters your car. Changing the cabin air filter is a simple DIY task that can be done with just a few basic tools. In this article, we’ll guide you through the process of changing the pollen filter in your Kia Picanto.

Step 1: Locate the Cabin Air Filter

The cabin air filter is located behind the glove box on the passenger side of the car. To access the filter, you’ll need to open the glove box and remove any items inside.

Step 2: Remove the Glove Box

Once the glove box is empty, you’ll need to remove it from the dashboard. To do this, locate the two plastic tabs on the bottom of the glove box and push them inward. This will release the stops that hold the glove box in place.

Step 3: Remove the Cabin Air Filter Cover

Behind the glove box, you’ll see a rectangular plastic cover with two clips holding it in place. Gently squeeze the clips and pull the cover out to remove it.

Step 4: Remove the Old Cabin Air Filter

Once the cover is removed, you’ll see the old cabin air filter. Pull it out of the filter housing and dispose of it properly.

Step 5: Install the New Cabin Air Filter

Before installing the new cabin air filter, make sure it’s the correct size and type for your Kia Picanto. Then, insert the new filter into the filter housing with the arrows on the filter pointing in the direction of the air flow.

Step 6: Reassemble the Cabin Air Filter Housing and Glove Box

With the new cabin air filter in place, reattach the cabin air filter cover and snap it into place with the clips. Then, replace the glove box by sliding it back into place and pressing it firmly to secure the stops.

Step 7: Test the New Cabin Air Filter

To test the new cabin air filter, turn on the car’s ventilation system and make sure that the air flow is consistent and the air quality is improved. If you notice any issues, make sure the filter is installed correctly or consult a mechanic.

Changing the cabin air filter is an easy DIY task that can improve the air quality and overall driving experience in your Kia Picanto. By following these simple steps and video below, you can save time and money by doing it yourself.
